I wanted to try the famous, delicious food in the area, and Yelp directed me to this Chinese fast food spot. I ordered a one-item combo with mushroom chicken. The food was delicious, and the portions were generous. Unlike the small servings from the well-known fast food chain with the bear, this place provided plenty of fried rice, chow mein, and chicken. I ate about 80% and was completely stuffed.

The prices are reasonable, and there's limited indoor seating. From the steady stream of people coming in, it seems this might be a reliable neighborhood chain with a long history.

I'm looking forward to eating here again.

The first thing you must try here is their cream cheese beef rolls. If you love cream cheese and anything rolled in an egg roll wrapper, this is for you! It's so good that I would give five stars just for this item alone.

Happy Wok is located in a plaza with tons of food choices, and I keep coming here when I need something quick for dinner. As a fan of fast Chinese food, this place has been my go-to spot since it's on my way home. I usually order a two-item combo, always opting for chow mein. Chinese fast food is the only place where I choose noodles over rice because it's just that good. I've tried different items, but my favorite is the tangerine chicken, which comes spicy if you want a bit of a kick.

I've also tried the beef and broccoli and the teriyaki chicken, and both were cooked well.

They offer combos but also sell a la carte. They provide family meals and catering services too.

The service has always been friendly.

Overall, come check this place out, and don't forget the cream cheese beef rolls!

Kicking off 2023 with a review for a fast-food Chinese take-out spot that my family has been visiting for years. Happy Wok holds a special place in my heart; I fondly remember getting take-out or dining in on Sundays after church with my parents. My dad and I have always loved the batter on the orange chicken, and we haven’t found another place that compares.

Happy Wok recently underwent a remodeling, making it more modern. It's located in a large plaza in Rowland, and the food is consistently solid, with a steady stream of customers. Since I’ve been in the area more often, I make it a point to stop by and grab a box of food so my parents and I can enjoy it throughout the week. Like many other Chinese fast-food places, Happy Wok packs in a ton of food, ensuring you have enough for multiple meals.

I almost always get the 2-item combo with fried rice and chow mein. While the rice and noodles are good, it’s the orange chicken that I crave the most. I’ve tried both the spicy and original versions, both using the same thick batter that makes the chicken chewier and crispier than other places. I prefer the original for its slightly sweeter taste, which enhances the flavors better than the spicy version.

I really appreciate how much meat they pack into the box; I can make several meals out of one order. They accept both cash and card. Sometimes I can run in right as they’re closing, and there’s usually still some orange chicken left. I will always stop by when I’m in the area to pick up a box of food!

I've been on the hunt for an old-school Chinese fast food spot, and I've discovered that every Happy Wok, a classic mom-and-pop shop, never disappoints. It’s far better than any Panda Express. Even my picky 6-year-old son loved their chow mein. The only improvement they could make is using a bit less oil in their food, which might require more effort, but it’s still really good.

They are generous with their portions. I was able to get a 3-item and a 2-item meal for $23, plus $6.59 for a large chow mein. I also tipped $5. The staff is very nice and they sell bottled water and soft drinks, but they gave my son unlimited water from the fountain drink machine. The location is clean and I feel people are really missing out. The last time I found a good Chinese restaurant like this was back in the 90s at the Happy Wok in Hacienda Heights.

I can't believe this place is still open! I used to come here often as a kid, nearly 30 years ago. When I was in the area and craving Chinese food, I thought I'd give it another shot.

I was hoping they would overfill the box like those places you see in viral videos, but they didn't. However, the amount of food was still good for around $14. They are definitely more generous with their portions than Panda Express.

The rice wasn't that great; I should have just gotten noodles. The BBQ pork was okay, and the tangerine chicken was a bit too hard but had decent flavor. They have a good variety, so I'll try something else next time instead of so much meat. It did its job of filling me up and wasn't terrible. If you want enough food for two meals at a decent price, you can't go wrong with Happy Wok!
